I noticed you mentioned hotels.com, booking.com and Expedia for hotels. Is there a reason why you do not use Momondo and prefer to go to the sites individually?

Momondo simultaneously searches Expedia, Travelocity, Amoma, hotels.com, booking.com, getaroom.com, agoda.com, others and many individual hotel websites. In my experience rates I saw on hotels.com or booking.com was the same if checking through Momondo or not, but obviously Momondo was saving a lot of time with the search….

Hi Matt, great post! I wish I had a little more flexibility to find better deals on airfare, but that’s just not the way of my world right now. I am a very frugal traveler and like to make sure I do all my research before a trip to avoid paying more than I should for services, food, transport, etc. It’s amazing what you can do with just a little knowledge and flexibility!

I noticed you did not mention Hotwire at all as a site you use for hotel booking. Is there a reason for that? I love to use that site for the unpublished rates. You’ve got to be somewhat flexible to book an unpublished rate hotel, but I have found it to be a great deal. Plus the element of surprise is always fun! I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
