Really not something I would ever want to do unless it was with family. Im the type of person that would feel equally indebted to the people I stayed with and this would mean I would feel it necessary to buy them dinner or gifts of equal value to the stay. In other words it would costs me just as close to staying in a hotel or hostel (preferably hotel) and it would also make me still feel out of my comfort zone. I think its great what she is doing but I just couldnt personally do it myself

Looks like its just me so far, but this seems like an incredible amount of begpacking. She doesn’t even eat local food or seem to give back to the local economy, just banks on the kindness of others, which is nice and all but…

Begpacking is growing and becoming the new cancer of travelers; people who rely on others to essentially take care of them during their trip of privilege. Oh well, maybe I’m reading into this all wrong.

I love Celinne’s perspective and takeaways from her journey! There are truly so many takeaways from travel—especially forging those connections with trusting your gut and reaffirming your faith that most people are good. I have never done anything this adventurous, but I have been on the other end of the equation. I lived in Colombia and now Spain and I love hosting, whether it’s family or a friend of a friend of a friend!

This is a staggering amount of networking by Celinne! I do a fair amount myself for my blogging and eBook promoting and all that good stuff, and she makes me look like a slouch LOL. Shows you the power of building a network though, especially when your network is a group of close friends whom you have helped out in some way, shape or form.

Kinda puts the Kiyosaki quote of your network determining your net worth to the test, and of course, proves it true too.

Such an inspiring interview! I love how Celinne made it work just with her friends network. While I’d be far from comfortable doing anything similar, some of my best experiences are from when I visited friends around the globe. Especially their weddings! I was lucky enough to study abroad and make friends worldwide, so that definitely helped.
All the best to Celinne with her projects! I really enjoyed reading the host stories. And btw. these interviews are great, Matt!
